For shorties like me (I'm truly 5'3 but often add a couple inches cause 5'5 just sounds better) the benefit of heels is obvious. But what about the blessed, model types who tower at 5'9+, often well above the head of a vertically insecure client? Read this. HEELS FLATTER EVERYONE.
-They engage the calf muscle, helping you appear slimmer, toned and well-postured from head to toe.
-They make lingerie outfits pop. All the Victoria's Secret Models always wear heels, even in bed.
-Short men without foot fetishes still love women donning heels. Just stay seated as much as possible.
If you can balance in 6 inch Jimmy Choos without getting puss-filled blisters, by all means, go for it. Unfortunately, the higher the heel, the trashier a shoe can become. Trashy shoes are fine for dress-up. But if you want to save cash, buy versatile shoes that are pretty enough for a cocktail party at the Four Seasons, and sexy enough for an afternoon session of S&M. What makes a versatile shoe anyway?
1. Black or neutral is ideal. Gold and Silver are ok. Bright colors are rolling the dice.
2. A heel height between 2"-4" is best.
3. Stay away from sequins, fur or fuzzy dice adornments. Simple is SEXY.
4. Basic pumps are very in this fall, not just for business types. They are also hard to skankify.
5. If you go strappy, ironically, less material is better. "Cage shoes" suggest many things, not all good.
6. Although boots are trendy, try to avoid shiny combined with over-the-knee. Way too Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
Here are some of my absolute favorite shoes this Fall.

ps. A study at the University of Verona in Italy claims that wearing high heels regularly strengthens a woman's pelvic muscles! Now WE could use some of that!
